Turn your ideas into your life

Such as: traveling through Europe on your own and blogging about it. Interning on Wall Street in New York City. Doing research on the gene in horses related to behavior — which helps you get into vet school. Getting your paper accepted for a research conference. Winning a national riding championship. And earning a scholarship to study what you love in graduate school.

Sound beyond your reach? Not at Hollins. Each of these things has been achieved by one of our students. Hollins is about turning possibilities into probabilities. Through rigorous scholarship, the guidance of passionate professors, real-world internships, study abroad, opportunities for leadership, peer support, and career counseling, Hollins will give you the tools to turn your ideas into your life.

  • Johanna Lemon studied in Paris and London and traveled throughout Europe, writing about her experiences. She's been accepted into the Peace Corps.
  • Raisha Kasaju did an internship with UBS in New York City.
  • Courtney Flerlage’s paper on the connections between the novel Evelina by Frances Burney and the nature poetry of Andrew Marvell was presented at the Virginia Humanities Conference.
  • Sarah Brown and Catherine Hensly each won national titles at the 2012 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships in North Carolina.
  • Mesa Perry was one of two to receive scholarships in the earth science division of the National University of Ireland, where she’ll start the Ph.D. program in applied ecology.
