Violist and violinist Bryan Matheson is a founding member of the Classic Strings Duo with his brother, Kevin, and received critical acclaim at their Carnegie Weill Recital Hall début as part of the Ibla Grand Prize competition winners’ tour. He holds a contract with the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and tours for the Virginia Commission for the Arts as violist in the Rainier Trio.
Matheson performed as violist with the Viva Vivaldi Chamber Orchestra for nine seasons, and recorded for Centaur Records with them. He performed in the Ameropa International Chamber Music Festival in Prague and was principal violist of the festival orchestra. For eight seasons Matheson served as principal violist of the RMA Chamber Orchestra, performing throughout the southeastern United States and in Ireland, including the prestigious West Cork Chamber Music Festival and the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage.
