Steve Hedrick Steve Hedrick

Steve Hedrick earned a Master of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with Certificate in Trumpet Performance from Elon University. He is the author of the Band Fundamentals Book Series. The four-volume series is used throughout the U.S. in school band programs for the development of music reading and tone production.

As a founding member of the Roanoke Chamber Brass, Steve and has played trumpet with the quintet since its inception in 2001. He has been playing at Mill Mountain Theatre since 1993 and was a member of the Dennis Reaser Orchestra (Dance Band) for many years. Steve and his wife Teresa own Hedrick Music, Inc., which is a music company with three principal areas; music instruction, music education publishing, and music performance.

Steve is also an adjunct lecturer at Roanoke College in Salem, VA.

  • He has performed with the Shenandoah Symphony Orchestra, South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra, Columbia Lyric Opera, Charleston (SC) Symphony, Lynchburg Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, and Opera Roanoke. Other notable performances include The Temptations, Brook Benton, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds, Johnny McClennon Big Band, and Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
