Makayla is originally from West Jefferson, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Master of Fine Arts in dance from Texas Woman’s University. She began her career as a high school educator and curriculum writer with Henderson County Public Schools and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She later went on to serve as an adjunct professor and recruitment coordinator at Texas Woman’s University.
Makayla is passionate about the unique experience of a women’s college education and enjoys supporting prospective students as they discover what makes Hollins special. Outside of work, she loves hiking, dancing, and spending time with her dog. Makayla looks forward to helping future students explore all that Hollins has to offer.
