Hollins University is pleased to announce that, effective January 1, 2026, Tiffany R. Hinton, Ed.D., will serve as the vice president for Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging. She has been serving as acting vice president since July 3, 2025, following the tenure of Dr. Gary Brown, who held the role beginning in January 2024.

During her time as acting vice president, Hinton has demonstrated exceptional energy, strategy, vision, and passion, ensuring continued progress on key goals and initiatives within Student Success, Well-Being, and Belonging. Her co-leadership of the university’s newest retention initiative has been particularly impactful, and her work has positioned the division for sustained success.

A seasoned higher education administrator and equity champion, Hinton joined Hollins in 2024 as associate vice president and chief Title IX officer, leading strategic efforts to cultivate an inclusive and supportive campus climate. Her previous leadership roles at Elizabeth City State University, Virginia Commonwealth University, and North Carolina Central University reflect more than a decade of experience in student development, crisis response, inclusion, and well-being.

“Tiffany is a bold and visionary leader with deep expertise in building systems that promote student well-being,” said Mary Dana Hinton (no relation), president of Hollins University. “Her leadership is grounded in care, accountability, and a relentless commitment to our students.”

Tiffany Hinton noted, “Hollins has a long-standing history of empowering students to lead, learn, and thrive, and I am excited to contribute to that legacy by supporting our remarkable students as they grow and pursue lives of purpose.”

Hinton holds a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from East Carolina University, a Master of Arts in criminal justice from Norfolk State University, and a Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from Fayetteville State University.
