To help manage traffic flow on move-in day, we created a move-in schedule based on first-year students residential assignments.

The Residence Halls Move-in schedule relates to your arrival time and initial car unloading only. After unloading and moving your car, you are welcome to take additional time getting settled in your new home.

Residence Halls Move-In Schedule:

  • Tinker A & Randolph 1: 7:30 – 9:00 a.m.
  • Tinker B & Randolph 2: 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
  • Tinker C & Randolph 3: 10:30 – 12:00 p.m

Commuter Students are encouraged to check-in between 10:00am-11:00am.

Upon arrival to campus on Saturday, August 30th you will be directed to Moody Center for orientation check-in. This one- stop check-in process will include opportunities to take care of important business with many campus offices. You will receive your student ID, new student welcome packet, residential students will receive their room keys.

Important note for parents/families:

  • The main parents/families hospitality center will be located at Moody Plaza, patio space in front of Moody Center.
  • Parents/families are encouraged to check-in at the hospitality center. Staff will be present to answer questions and provide support as needed.

Upon completion of check-in in Moody Center you will be directed to your Residence Hall to unload your car.

The Hollins community is extremely excited to welcome you and your family to campus. As such, there will be several volunteers available to assist you during move-in. At Hollins, we call these volunteers “Movers & Shakers.” Volunteers will have t-shirts on indicating they are a part of the “Movers-Shakers” crew.

To help make move-in day run smoothly, students are asked to label their bags/boxes as follow: Name-Hall-Room Number (Hollie Collie-Tinker-A301). Now, the “Movers-Shakers” crew helping move Hollie Collie know exactly where to take their belongings! Most importantly, Hollie Collie roommate will know which boxes are there’s and which are Hollie Collie’s!

All residential rooms come with a bed frame, mattress, desk, chair, closet, dresser (free standing or built in), and a mirror.

    Consider brining cooling items:

As a historic campus, some residence halls do not have air conditioning in individual rooms. To beat the heat, HRL recommends that residents residing in Randolph, Main, and East Hall consider purchasing the following items:

    • Mattress toppers with cooling technology
    • Chill pillows and cooling sheets
    • Box fans or pedestal fans
    • Cube style air cooler (Arctos, Evapolar, Artic Air) under 3 Amp

Randolph, Main, and East halls all have air conditioning in communal spaces.
