How to Host a Sleepover in 10 Easy Steps by Mattie Tindall ‘23, directed by Wendy-Marie Martin is a comedy that centers on five young girls at the ultimate sleepover during summer break – right before they embark on their final year of middle school, capturing the joy, magic, and bittersweet moments of growing up, all set in a fantastical world where young girls hold the power to alter reality. Performed as a staged reading by Hollins first years. Free and open to the public. No tickets or reservations required.

White Zinnia: A New Dance Work by Penelope Freeh with Installation by Ainslee Freeh

Dance artist and Hollins faculty member Penelope Freeh implements heightened theatricality, intimate gesture, and visual design elements to reveal deeply personal content. White Zinnia explores her mother’s iconography and characteristics (including dyslexia, left-handedness, and Alzheimer’s) as inspired by and in the setting of her mother’s visual artworks.

Freeh writes, “I portray myself, my mother, a hybrid of us, and possibly, a ghost. I grapple with the remains of my mother’s abandoned visual art practice. My palette is ours.”
