Laura grew up in Roanoke, Virginia and began her academic journey at Virginia Western Community College before transferring to Hollins University to study English and education. After earning her teaching license, she taught elementary school in the valley, inspiring young learners through creativity and compassion. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, reading, and unwinding with video games. Motivated by a deep belief in the value of a liberal arts education, Laura returned to Hollins to support and guide future students— whether they’re transferring from another college, joining as Horizon students, or entering as traditional first-years.
