students an M.A. or an M.F.A. degree in the study
and writing of children’s and young adult literature

| Dance (M.F.A. and Post-Baccalaureate Certificate) is a 60-credit degree which offers students an opportunity to immerse themselves for six weeks of the summer in an international community of the American

University. The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in dance is designed for serious, professional-minded students. It is a good choice for students who want to prepare for advanced-level work (either M.F.A. programs or professional work in the field). |

Studies (M.A.L.S.) is a program for people

Playwriting (M.F.A.)

Studies (M.A., M.F.A.) is a summer
program. While the M.A. is designed for those whose
interest lies more in the academic study of film,

Teaching (M.A.T.) Track
1 is for career teachers who want to learn more
about teaching or to assume new leadership roles in
their schools. Individualized programs are developed
to meet students' needs. Track
2 is a flexible year-round program to earn initial
licensure.
Licensure only is another option for people who already have a college degree and want to obtain licensure but without pursuing a master's degree. |
Certificate of Advanced Studies (C.A.S.)
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (C.A.S.) is granted when students enrolled have completed 10 graduate level courses beyond the master’s degree. This certificate provides current teachers an opportunity to obtain courses necessary to teach dual enrollment courses at the high school level. The certificate is also useful to those who desire to teach in a community college setting but do not have the required number of graduate-level courses in a particular subject area to meet the college’s faculty requirements. |
