Students learn the importance of giving back to their future alma mater through the example set by alumnae. They connect with alumnae during the Hollins Fund Phonathon, getting a glimpse of the important role they will soon fill, hearing why philanthropy is meaningful to alumnae, and providing a window into campus life for those who answer Hollins’ call. Students receive first-hand experience in fundraising and the satisfaction of giving through the Senior Legacy Program. These key initiatives help students understand the importance of giving back to their alma mater:
Senior Legacy Program
The Senior Legacy Program introduces students to the importance of giving to Hollins through volunteerism and philanthropy. Senior Legacy committee members volunteer their time and talent to increase awareness among their classmates about the Hollins Fund. Senior Legacy gifts to the Hollins Fund not only support the Hollins experience but also foster a spirit of giving back among the senior class.

Hollins students call alumnae/i to share campus news, confirm contact information, and ask for support of Hollins through a gift to the Hollins Fund. Student callers also enjoy connecting with alumnae and sharing Hollins experiences.
Hollins students call alumnae/i during the fall and spring semesters. Watch for the 540 area code and answer the phone to talk to a student. We hope you enjoy chatting with a student, sharing your Hollins story, and making your Hollins Fund gift in support of current Hollins students.
Tinker Day Challenge
Last fall, 130 alumnae met the Tinker Day Challenge and had their names hiked up Tinker Mountain for making a gift with a Phonathon student caller. They received a special Tinker Day Thank You from the students who posed on senior rock for a picture with each name.
Phonathon Student Callers
Fall applications will be accepted in September, 2018. Please contact Kerry Kinnison, Associate Director of the Hollins Fund.
