I want to take a moment to thank you along with all our wonderful students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and friends of the university for making me feel so at home here. I am truly privileged to have gotten to know many of you over these past months and to lead such a remarkable institution of higher learning.
On February 24, I was profoundly honored to be officially installed as Hollins University’s 12th president. As I noted during my inaugural address, the search for authentic purpose is ultimately what a Hollins education is all about and why I wanted to be a part of the university’s mission. Since I arrived at Hollins last July, I have witnessed first-hand our unwavering dedication to making society a better place for all. I have seen the ways in which we are intentionally developing and equipping future leaders, creators, policymakers, and citizens who understand their social responsibility and serve the communities in which they live.
Please join me in building the Hollins of tomorrow so that we can continue the noble purpose of educating women who lead lives of consequence.
I hope you have a marvelous Spring, and I look forward to seeing many of you when we celebrate our 176th Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 20, at 10 a.m. on our historic Front Quadrangle.
