Doug Jackson M.F.A. \u201906, profiled by Martha Park M.F.A. \u201915 (<u><a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8390\">\u201dBuilding Creative Communities\u201d<\/a><\/u>), remained in Roanoke after earning his Hollins degree and is finding ingenious ways to connect readers and writers.<\/p>\n<p>Jacqueline Whitt \u201903 and Megan Hennessey-Croy \u201907 are two of the 21 female faculty members at the U.S. Army War College\u2014where, Whitt says, it\u2019s her job \u201cto scramble [students\u2019] brains up, explode their heads a little bit, make them think in really different ways, and really challenge them.\u201d Beth JoJack \u201998 tells the story in <u><a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8394\">\u201cTraining Senior Officers for Difficult Jobs and Hard Decisions.\u201d<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p>So much to do, so little time. How are alumnae finding balance in their busy lives? Sarah Achenbach \u201988 sent out a survey and consulted an expert. Read her fascinating account in <u>\u201c<a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8405\">Striking a Balance: What It Really Means to Have It All.<\/a><\/u><a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8405\">\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Jose \u201912 seems to be a one-woman example of how use the information gained in one career to inform the next. In <u>\u201c<a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8423\">From Mangoes to Blockchain,\u201d<\/a><\/u> Jeff Hodges M.A.L.S. \u201911 chronicles Jose\u2019s many post-Hollins adventures, ranging from organic gardening to launching a global technology company.<\/p>\n<p>When students aren\u2019t in class or their residence halls, chances are they\u2019re in Moody, where they\u2019re eating, attending a workshop, listening to a band, doing crafts, or socializing. Take a look at <u><a href=\"\/magazine\/?p=8432\">\u201cThe Many Moods of Moody.\u201d<\/a><\/u><\/p>\n<p>Miranda Dennis \u201908 has the last word\u2014on donuts.
