At Reunion 2017<\/a><\/strong> in June were graduates from the years ending in 2 and 7, the class of 2015, and other alumnae who celebrated Hollins\u2019 175th anniversary. Fun photos show you how much love there is for the university and classmates.<\/p>\n The Hollins connection though history and destiny is revealed by Beth JoJack \u201998 in an interesting story about a house, an alumna, and a museum in \u201cConnected by History<\/a>.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n Pareena Lawrence officially began as Hollins\u2019 12th president in July and she inspires us in her essay, \u201cA Global Force<\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> with her vision for the university to prepare women to be global citizens and lead lives of consequence. In \u201cListening, Observing, Adapting, and Problem Solving<\/a>,\u201d<\/strong> Jeff Hodges M.A.L.S. \u201911, introduces us to President Lawrence\u2019s personal and professional journey and reveals a portrait of a leader ready to serve.<\/p>\n Examples of students preparing to lead these lives of consequence are profiled in \u201cBeyond the Classroom<\/a>\u201d<\/strong> by Jeff Hodges M.A.L.S. \u201911.<\/p>\n And, serving Hollins with a connection to students\u2019 careers is exactly what alumnae are doing as described in \u201cA Competitive Advantage<\/a>\u201d <\/strong>by Sarah Achenbach \u201988. More engaged and active in the lives of students than ever before, alumnae cultivate mentoring opportunities, career preparation programs, and robust internship offerings.<\/p>\n Finally, know that we are listening as we continue to improve your magazine. Results from our Hollins<\/em> magazine survey<\/a> <\/strong>reveal suggestions and praise, but most importantly, 88 percent of respondents think the magazine strengthens your connection with the university.
