You\u2019ll find <a href=\"\/alumnae\/reunion-2016-2\/\">photos<\/a>\u00a0and other <a href=\"\/alumnae\/reunion-2016-2\/\">details<\/a> about this year\u2019s congregation of classes (those ending in six and one, plus the class of 2014). Here you\u2019ll find 175 moments in our history, profiles of distinguished alumnae\/i, and a calendar of upcoming events, including such speakers as Donna Brazile, Olympia Snowe, and Gwen Ifill.<\/p>\n<p>Hollins\u2019 multipronged alumnae engagement initiative enhances the university experience in a number of ways, including how students find and benefit from internships. This issue highlights significant ways in which alumnae are making a difference, as Judy Lambeth \u201973 explains in her introductory essay, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6951\">Alumnae Engagement at Hollins: It\u2019s Not Four Years\u2014It\u2019s for Life<\/a>.\u201d Part of the success of the program stems from focus on key cities: New York (\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6957\">Getting Down to Business in New York City<\/a>\u201d), Washington, D.C. (\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6957\">Building a Power Network<\/a>\u201d by Sindhu Hirani Blume \u201993), and\u2014for first-year students\u2014Roanoke (\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6971\">Getting the Jump on Real-World Experience<\/a>\u201d by Jeff Hodges M.A.L.S. \u201911). Beth JoJack\u2019s [\u201998] article, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6971\">Internships as Entr\u00e9es into Careers<\/a>,\u201d is about three students who used internships to help them decide on a career direction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollins.edu\/magazine\/?p=6932\">In the Loop<\/a> contains an announcement of the retirement of President Nancy Oliver Gray, who will be stepping down at the end of the 2016-17 academic year.
