Hollins Wins Big on the Road

Saturday night saw Hollins travel to Eastern Mennonite is search of their first ODAC win of the season.  Hollins came into the match up with the Royals coming over a heartbreaking overtime loss to Emory & Henry on Wednesday afternoon. 

Hollins wasted no time, scoring less then one minute into the game.  The Royals answered five minutes later and the match remained tied until Hollins again took the lead.  However, the home team answered less than a minute later and just ten minutes into the contest the score was tied at 2-2.  That was the last time the score was close as Hollins scored four unanswered goals and led 6-2 at the break.  The Hollins offensive onslaught wasn't over as the road team added three second half tallies en route to a big 9-2 ODAC win, their first of the season.

Becca Logan (Culloden, WV) found the back of the net four times to lead a Hollins offense that outshot EMU 23-11.  Maran O'Neill (Bedford, VA) scored a goal and handed out two assists.  Morgan Wood (Rocky Mount, VA) scored twice while Dani Franklin (Chesapeake Beach, MD) and Megan Sauciuc (Monroe, NC) each added a score and Sarah Knox (Bedford, VA) recorded an assist.  Keeper Brandi Chesne (Hammond, LA) recorded three saves while picking up the win in goal.

Kate Harrold and Nora Osei scored the two Royal goals and Morgan Hill added an assist.  Kimmy Beck stopped seven of the 16 Hollins shots that were on target.

Hollins will look to make it two in a row on Tuesday when they travel to Bridgewater.  The match up with the Eagles is scheduled to start at 4:00pm.
