Final Results

Friday marked the final round of the 2013 NCAA DIII Golf National Championships.  Elizabeth Cheng (Virginia Beach, VA) represented herself and Hollins very well with a 12th place finish in the four day event after posting a total of 314.  The four day event was held on the Baytowne course at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Club in Destin, FL.

With the course playing at par 72 and 5,831 yards, Cheng was able to climb the leader board after posting a first round 81.  With 111 golfers in the field, Cheng found herself in 32nd place after the opening round.  The second and third rounds saw Elizabeth post identical 77's to put her in a position to finish in the top 10.  Cheng started the final round with a birdie but struggled over the next few holes before righting herself.  Over the final six holes of the week, Cheng played at one under par to finish the four day tournament in a tie for 12th.

Earlier in the week, the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced their post season awards.  On the heels of her solid season, winning the Jekyll Island Collegiate and being named the very first ODAC Women's Golfer of the Year, Cheng was named to the All East Region team as well as being honored on the All American second team.
