Hollins University junior Elizabeth Cheng (Virginia Beach, VA) has been named 2nd team All American by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).  The WGCA awards were announced late Monday night and in addition to being named All American, Cheng was named as an All East Region member by the organization.

The naming of the All American teams came at the mid-way point of the 2013 NCAA DIII National Golf Tournament where Cheng is currently tied for 18th with two rounds yet to be played.

The 2012-13 golf season was a record setting campaign for Cheng.  In nine events, Cheng recorded three wins, seven top fives, and eight top ten finishes.  She was named ODAC Women's Golfer of the Week six times while earning the conferences first ever Player of the Year award.  In March, Cheng won the prestigious Jekyll Island Collegiate, one of if not the best DIII golf tournament in the country.  For the past two seasons, Elizabeth has been honored by the WGCA as a member of the All East Region team as well as being named an All American Scholar.  For her accomplishments this year, Cheng was named Hollins Sportswoman of the Year.
