Class years are assigned to residence halls on the basis of the number of classmates expected at reunion. Please register before the May 17 deadline to ensure your rooming preference. If you register late, we cannot guarantee a room with your class. DORM CHECK-OUT: 12:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2.
Remember that not all residence halls are air-conditioned and there are communal bathrooms. Spouses and children are asked to share bathrooms with alumnae. No triple rooms are available. Hollins provides necessary bed linens, light blankets, and towels. You may want to bring an extra blanket, extra pillow, or a fan; when packing, think “camp.”
Important Weekend Information
CHILDREN / BABYSITTING
Children are welcome participants at reunion. Please bring your own cribs, sleeping bags, and strollers. Indicate the number and ages of all children on the registration form. Alumnae interested in babysitting services for a $10/hour fee during the reunion weekend for children ages 3 and up should contact Alumnae Relations for more information by May 17: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You are invited to sing with the Alumnae Choir at the Sunday morning worship and memorial service. All are welcome. Please indicate your interest on your registration form.
Activities during reunion are casual and informal attire is appropriate. However, Saturday night’s dinner is dressier. You may wish to bring a sweater for outdoor meals, a sunhat, and an umbrella.
Receive an early bird discount by registering by May 17, 2019. Reunion fees help defray the cost of a great event and cover such things as catering; rental of tables, chairs, and linens; flowers; entertainment; special speakers; staffing; class photos; and hospitality rooms. The Parade of Classes and the Alumnae Celebration are complimentary and open to everyone. The à la carte registration fee will be waived for alumnae and non-alumnae guests who register for only one meal, with no housing. However, a registration fee is still required of those seeking to attend activities/events but abstain from meals. All registrations received after the May 17 early bird deadline will be charged a $25 fee. Refund requests, less a $25 processing fee, may be made if your reservation is canceled prior to May 17, 2019. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be made after May 17, 2019, as arrangements for your attendance have already been made by the office of Alumnae Relations. Pre-registration closes after May 24 – after May 24, you must register in person at check-in.
Each class will have a hospitality room with a whiteboard; you are encouraged to bring mementos to decorate creatively. An initial supply of cups, ice, soft drinks, and mixers will be provided. If you would like to help ensure the quality of your class’s hospitality room experience by volunteering for your reunion committee, please contact your class reunion chair.
A ticket for all registered meals will be included in your registration packet; remember to bring your ticket with you to each meal. Meals are provided by the Hollins food service staff in Hollins facilities and are informal, with a dressier event on Saturday evening. If you have any dietary restrictions, please indicate your needs in your registration form. If you are planning to register at check-in and have special dietary needs, please contact the office of Alumnae Relations by May 17 to ensure accommodation (email@example.com).
Each class’ Reunion Committee will be partnering with local restaurants, clubs, or hotels to organize private, off-campus class dinners Friday, May 31. Be sure to reach out to your class volunteer leadership if you have any questions or want to help out with the planning. Details will be shared with individual classes as they become available.
Class photographs will be taken immediately following the Alumnae Celebration on Saturday morning. A complimentary photo will be sent to each alumna who attends reunion. Additional reunion weekend photos will be available to view on the Hollins website.
Assistance is available for those with special needs for transportation and housing while on campus. Please indicate your needs on your registration form. A wheelchair will be available on a limited basis. Should you have concerns about our ability to accommodate you, please contact the office of Alumnae Relations (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Hollins does not provide shuttle service to the airport. Alumnae staying in hotels are encouraged to check with their hotel to see if shuttles are provided. If you drive or rent a car, you may drive up to your dorm to load and unload luggage.
