Children’s Literature Non-Degree Offerings

Children's Lit rock

Children’s literature connects you to the world. Was your first childhood book Goodnight Moon? That diplomat or CEO you are talking to read it too, in Chinese, or Farsi. The books we read as children start us on our path in life, and the books that children are reading now will shape our future world. Come to Hollins and find out how children’s literature connects to fields as diverse as medicine, sociology, politics, and international relations. We offer the opportunity for professionals to take courses on a non-degree-seeking basis, investigating such topics as children’s literature and mythology, the history of children’s book illustration, the modern young adult novel, or young adult science fiction.

For teachers seeking recertification, we offer the opportunity to take courses in literature, illustration, and writing, in a compacted summer term, choosing from our long list of offerings.
