Executive Education: Certificate in Leadership

For over a decade, the Batten Leadership Institute (BLI) has been developing professional leaders through customized organizational training and formal certificate programs. Our unique combination of assessments, workshops, group experiences, readings, and mentorship provides a framework for transformational leadership development. We offer concrete, practical, and experiential learning exercises which link theory to practice and provide knowledge and skills that can be put into action from day one.

Graduates of our BLI certificate programs grow in ways that foster clear transformation in their organizations and community endeavors. They gain significant value in networking with others across industries and agree to be held accountable in their cohorts for creating real movement within themselves, while challenging others to do the same. Continuing this year is the addition of research from neuroscience and the emerging field of neuroleadership to improve performance, manage diversity and facilitate better learning and decision-making.

Kimberly Enochs

“Understanding who I am as a leader has always been extremely important to me. Participation in the Hollins program taught me that developing a deeper understanding of others is a true measure of exceptional leadership. The experience was priceless.”

Kimberly A.C. Enochs, SPHR, senior vice president, Rutherfoord Companies

“I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Batten Leadership Institute. One of my goals was to strengthen my skills on satisfactorily resolving conflict. Not only was I successful in achieving that goal, but through observations gained from the testing profiles I was able to better articulate a clear vision of my goals and aspirations within my organization. I plan to use what I have learned to help to make a difference in the success of my organization and to successfully coach others.”

Carol Tuning, human services coordinator, City of Roanoke
