Residence life

Welcome to Hollins University. Going away to school is probably the only time in your life when you will live, work, and study in such close proximity to so many other people. These dynamics challenge you to learn the meaning of community, to balance individual and group needs, and to develop self-discipline.

We are a residential community, which means most of our students live in residence halls on campus where they receive encouragement and guidance as they develop academically, socially, physically, and spiritually. On-campus living provides a unique opportunity for residents to expand their ideas, pursue interests, resolve differences, and develop leadership skills.

We have nine residence halls, several of which offer housing for students with specialized interests such as community service, fine arts, or foreign languages. All of our residences are comfortable, safe living areas that provide ample opportunity for students to bond with each other and the residence life staff.

Please, take some time to explore the various links that provide more information about what the HRL experience is like for most students. This information will be useful during your campus visit.
