A Hollins magazine article has been recognized by District III of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for Excellence in Feature Writing.
"Justice for Susan," which recounts the 1975 murder of Hollins alumna Susan Reeve and her family’s subsequent efforts to honor her memory, will be recognized as the category’s Grand Award Winner at CASE District III’s annual conference in Atlanta on February 21.
Published in the magazine’s Spring 2011 issue, "Justice for Susan" was written by Jeff Hodges, Hollins’ director of public relations. The piece focuses on the determination of Arthur and Barbara Reeve to establish a lasting memorial to their daughter and to prevent her killer from profiting from his crimes. The award competition judges called the article "a touching story written in a way that any reader can relate to."
