About Studio Roanoke
One of the hallmarks of Hollins’ summer M.F.A. program in playwriting is a mutually beneficial creative relationship with Studio Roanoke, a new blackbox storefront theatre entirely dedicated to new plays and developing new writers for the stage. Studio Roanoke provides a space where writers, performers, and audiences can come together in a spirit of community and collaboration to expand our understanding of what is possible in the theatre. The theatre also offers educational programs and support for artist development for Southwestern Virginia. By working in concert with other arts organizations, Studio Roanoke strives to be a nationally recognized ignition point for new play development.
