Special Screening of the Documentary I Am Breathing

June 21, 7 p.m., Niederer Auditorium, Richard Wetherill Visual Arts Center
Emma Davie and Morag McKinnon’s award winning documentary chronicling Neil Platt’s struggle with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The film will be screened as part of a Global Screening Day put together by the producers of the film. Learn more about the film at http://www.iambreathingfilm.com/

Special Screening of the Film Just Peck

Screenwriter/Hollins and UCLA Instructor Marc Arneson presents a screening of Just Peck, a film he wrote while a student at UCLA.

Screening of Friday, the 13th, Part Two with Special Guest Steve Dash

Hollins Film faculty member Matt Marshall will host a post-screening discussion of the film with actor Steve Dash who portrayed Jason in the film.

One-Hour TV Drama: Screening of Medium

July 1, 6:30 p.m., Jackson Screening Room, Richard Wetherill Visual Arts Center
Screenwriter/instructor Geoff Geib presents a screening of an episode of Medium. Afterwards, Geoff will talk about the process of writing the episode and the ins and outs of writing for network television.

2nd Annual Hollins University Screenwriting and Film Alumni Weekend

July 5, 7 p.m., Niederer Auditorium, Richard Wetherill Visual Arts Center
Alumni Weekend kicks off with a special presentation from television writer Susan Hurwitz-Arneson. Susan worked for eight years on South Park and just completed a stint as a staff writer on ABC's Malibu Country. She’ll screen an episode of each show and talk about her experiences on both.

Alumni Screenings and Readings

Returning alumni will screen their works and present readings of their screenplays. Program director Tim Albaugh will also lecture on another aspect of the craft and business.

Student Wildcard Night!

Closing Night Films and Dinner

We’ll close out the summer with a group dinner in celebration of everyone's successful completion of the summer term. We’ll screen the films produced in this summer’s production course, along with instructor Niam Itani’s award-winning film Super Full. We’ll also announce the recipient of this year’s Klaus Phillips Memorial Scholarship.
