Habitat for Humanity

...we're building more than just houses.

Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller. Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating poverty in housing

Mission Statement

The Hollins chapter of Habitat for Humanity was chartered in 1995. Since then, we have sponsored two houses in the Roanoke area, initiated an annual fundraising Carnival and organized work crews for several other area houses.
We are always looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic and ready to learn, regardless of skill level. It is an amazing experience to watch a house go up. However, it is even more special if you hammered in that piece of siding or put up that wall. Habitat is an experience that we believe as many people as possible should try to do not just at Hollins, but everywhere.
