Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Housing and Residence Life
The person in this position is responsible for the leadership and management of the University’s housing and residence life (HRL) program, directly supervising the the Residential Learning Coordinators, graduate assistants, and undergraduate staff members. The Director of HRL works to provide a safe, clean, well-maintained area which promotes academic success and personal growth. Dr. Schueler is available for support and referral as needed by students and staff.

Residential Learning Coordinators
Residential Learning Coordinators (RLCs) Nickie Smith and Reese Rechnitz are professional staff members who live in apartments in the residence halls and report to Dr. Schueler. Reese, the Area 1 RLC oversees Randolph and Tinker, focusing on the needs of new students. Nickie, the Area 2 RLC oversees East, West, the Hill Houses, and the apartments, focusing on specialty housing. Each RLC functions as a communicator, advisor, counselor, and a friendly presence in their halls. Students may contact their RLC via phone, email, voicemail, or by stopping by their office on the third floor of Moody.

Graduate Assistants
Jamie West and Rebekah Manley are live-in, graduate students reporting to the RLCs and Dr. Schueler. Jamie and Rebekah assist the HRL staff in a variety of ways including mentoring the head residential assistants, monitoring programming events, and assisting the RLCs with other administrative duties including returning student retention.

Head Resident Assistants
The uncommon women who fill these roles assist their RLCs in the day-to-day operations of their residential area. The responsibilities of a head resident assistant (HRA) include student development, general administration, and maintenance and facility administration. HRAs fill a principal student leadership position within housing and residence life. They support and embrace the value of customer service through daily interaction with fellow students.

Resident Assistants
The first person residents should turn to when they have questions or concerns should be the resident assistant (RA) on their hall. RAs are student leaders who act as peer counselors and community builders on their floor, tending to the emotional health of floormates and the emotional tone of the floor in general. They are a vital link in the HRL program between students and professional staff.
