Cultural and Community Engagement

Cultural and Community Engagement assists in fostering an environment that values and actively supports an inclusive community. Working in collaboration with students, faculty, and staff, the office promotes and encourages the acceptance and celebration of difference through:

  • Social justice training
  • Leadership development
  • Open dialogues
  • Workshops
  • Cultural programming and celebrations

We also assist with the recruitment, retention, and graduation of underrepresented students; provide information and referrals; advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students (LGBT); advocate for diverse students, faculty, and staff; work to address oppressive behaviors; collaborate and support student organizations' programming efforts, as well as campus-wide initiatives; and serve as a community liaison.
