As a member of the National Collegiate
Athletic Association (NCAA), Division III, and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC), Hollins provides the opportunity for players to enjoy the challenge of college sports while being able to maintain a focus on academics.
The 2004 volleyball team was led by a core group of returning players. Juniors Rebekah Cocke, Kim Kopocis
and Sophomores Emily Bresina and Laura Dittmar provided leadership for this team.
The players had the opportunity to play intercollegiately in Puerto Rico during our pre-season sport tour.
The volleyball team will compete in a varsity spring season in 2005 and may transition to club status for the 2005-06 year.
Coach:
Kimberly A. Martinez is Hollins’ head volleyball coach. A 1999 graduate of Bridgewater College, she played volleyball and ran track. Martinez was a member of the 1996 ODAC
championship volleyball team. She has coached
middle school, high school and club teams.

Facilities:
Multimillion-dollar athletic complex with playing courts for basketball, fully equipped Nautilus weight room, training rooms, sauna, climbing wall, the new 10-court outdoor Batten Tennis Center, excellent riding facilities, and Northen Swimming Center with a competition-sized pool and a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The six-lane pool has a one-meter and a three-meter diving board, plus balconies and a lounge for spectators.
