Hollins hosted Guilford College on Thursday night looking to even their ODAC record at 2-2.  The match marked the first for Hollins since losing a heartbreaking five setter to Virginia Intermont one week ago.  The first set was a see-saw affair with the lead changing hands several times throughout the early going.  The visitors took control late in the set and cam away with a 25-21 win.  The second stanza was more of the same and again the Quakers took the lead at the halfway mark en route to a two set lead.  Hollins found themselves in the same hole that they were in against the Cobras, however they were unable to get on track in the third and fell 25-19.  With the loss, Hollins and Guilford left the match with identical 1-3 ODAC marks.

Lauren Hays (Saginaw, TX/Boswell) recorded a match high nine kills on just 17 attempts.  Hays also added an assist and two total blocks.  Fellow first-year Mandi McDade (Eustis, FL/Eustis) added six kills and 17 digs.  Senior Simone Mendez (Gardena, CA/St. Bernard) handled the libero duties and posted a match high 26 digs.

Guilford was led by Laura Kopald and Emma Gunn, both with nine kills.  Setter Taylor Whitley handed out 26 assists while Taylor Phillips, libero, led the team with 24 digs.

Hollins will enjoy some rest before hosting Lynchburg College.  Next Wednesday's match is scheduled to start at 7:00pm
