After picking up two ODAC wins in their last three matches, Hollins traveled out of conference for a tri-match hosted by Southern Virginia University. Hollins faced Peace College in the afternoon before playing the host Knights on Saturday evening. Hollins played tough but couldn't take either of the first two sets. SVU took set one 22-25 and came back to stop Hollins in the second set by the closest of margins, 24-26. The visitors from Roanoke came back to take the third set in thrilling fashion, 25-23. After seeing the first three sets end as close as they could get, the fourth saw Hollins struggle to find their way and fell to the Knights 25-15. Ally Reed (Sterling, VA/Dominion) led Hollins with 10 kills and 20 digs. Mandi McDade (Eustis, FL/Eustis) added seven kills and 14 digs while setter Angie Moreno (Houston, TX/Elsik) handed out a team high 18 assists. Southern Virginia was led by Camille Tua and her 15 kills. Larissa Conger and Brynn McGinn each added 10 kills while Sara Harmon and Nicole Gwynn combined to record 37 assists. Hollins will wrap up league play on Tuesday night. Hollins will host cross-town rival Roanoke College with a berth to the season ending ODAC Tournament on the line. The final home match of the season is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
