WildCats Prove Inhospitable Hosts

Lynchburg, VA - Hollins University Volleyball at Randolph College, October 18, 2013

Box score

A trip to Randolph College was the final stop on a two game road trip that featured a non-conference loss to Bluefield College on Tuesday night.  Hollins came into the matchup with the WildCats tied in the ODAC standings.

The home team got off to a quick start and took the first set, 25-16.  Hollins needed to gain the momentum in the opening stages of the second frame in order to avoid digging themselves a hole that would be difficult to get out of.  However, Randolph wouldn't let a game Hollins squad gain an advantage and as the final point was played, it was the WildCats that enjoyed a 2-0 lead by taking the set, 25-17.  Hollins and Randolph played a tight third set but it was again the WlidCats that pulled away late to take the set, 25-22, and the match, 3-0.

Jordan Templin recorded 14 of the Randolph 40 kills.  Noelle Wojciechowski and Skyler Wood each killed six while Kerry McMichael handed out a match high 26 assists.

Hollins will return home on Tuesday night for their final home match of the season.  Cross-town rival Roanoke College will be the opponent for Hollins annual "Dig Pink" night, where the team will wear pink in order to bring awareness to support the fight against breast cancer.  The home finale against the Maroons is scheduled to start at 7:00pm.
