After a five season absence, Hollins volleyball returned to action on Wednesday night. Hollins faced ODAC foe Bridgewater before a packed house. There was plenty of excitement as Hollins was tied at a set apiece in their first match since the 2004 season. Bridgewater pulled out a hard fought 25-20 third set and went on the take the match three sets to one. Hollins was paced by Allyson Reed (Sterling, VA/Dominion), pictured left, and her match high 14 kills. Janae Parks (El Paso, TX/Franklin) dished out 29 assists, while Amy Centa (Bozeman, MT/Bozeman served four aces to go with her 14 digs. Bridgewater was led by Katie long and her 10 kills and 10 digs. Ashleigh Foor and Lindsay Kellum each had 12 helpers and Katie Baker delivered five service aces. Hollins will travel to Virginia Beach to compete in Virginia Wesleyan's tournament this Friday and Saturday. |
