Tournament Results

The Hollins University tennis team opened play this fall with a trip to the Methodist University Fall Invitational.  The two day tournament featured over 40 players from six different institutions.

Senior Karen Montoya (Delicias, Mexico) reached the final of the Championship bracket by not dropping a set in the first three rounds.  In the final, Montoya fell to Mia Winterbottom from UNC Pembroke.  In the #1 Doubled draw, Montoya teamed with her sister Proscila Montoya (Delicias, Mexico) to finish third.  Emily Meyers (Roanoke, VA) reached the third place match in the #3 Singles draw before falling to her opponent from Methodist University.

Hollins will continue their fall schedule next weekend when they travel to Mary Washington University for the ITA Regional Championships.
