Lexington , VA - Hollins University Tennis at Washington & Lee Fall Festival, September 19-20, 2009

The Hollins University tennis team traveled to Lexington to compete in the Washington & Lee 2009 Fall Tennis Festival.  Hollins competed against national powers Mary Washington University and Washington & Lee University in the two day, three team event.

Coming off an impressive effort in the Hollins Fall Festival a weekend ago, the young Hollins team stepped up their level of competition and held their own against the two regionally and nationally ranked opponents.  Anne Ailstock (Church Rd., VA/Dinwiddie) and Sarah Budrus (Huntington, WV/Phillips Academy) continued their excellent play this fall by beating the Mary Washington team of Michelle Meadows and Jocelyn Lewis 9-7.  Ailstock also won two singles matches during the event.  First year player Ziray David won her match against Cassie Bowman (Mary Washington) 6-0, 6-0.

Hollins will travel to Mary Washington next weekend to compete in the ITA Regional Tournament.
