Roanoke , VA - Hollins University Tennis hosts 2009 Hollins Fall Festival, September 12-13, 2009

Hollins hosted their 2009 Fall Festival this past weekend.  Hollins, Mary Baldwin, and Ferrum competed in the three team, two day event.

Hollins won 16 of the 23 singles matches and swept all eight doubles matches played against outside competition during the event.  Shawnte Woodson, pictured left, won all three of her single's matches.  Junior doubles team Anne Ailstock and Sarah Budrus went a perfect three for three including a thrilling 8-6 win over teammates Mariah Bryant and Woodson in what proved to be the match of the weekend.  Bryant won two singles matches and teamed with Woodson to win two doubles matches.  Katie Dotson was also perfect during the event by winning all three singles and all three doubles matches in which she competed.  Finley Vinson, who parterned with Dotson, won two of her singles matches.  Taylor Reedy won three singles matches and teamed with fellow first year player Ziray David to win two doubles matches.  All in all Hollins won 29 total matches during the two day event.
