Coach Leslie Bernard

Coach Leslie Bernard came to Hollins in 1997 and has compiled a record of 116-49. A Rutgers University graduate, Bernard played four years of Division I tennis. While she was at Rutgers, the team went undefeated in two fall seasons and finished second in the Atlantic 10 Conference behind Penn State. After college, Bernard taught tennis at private clubs and camps in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, she continued her on-court success by earning a number 1 ranking in 30’s for singles. Her peers selected Coach Bernard as Coach of the Year in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

In October 2010, Coach Bernard and her husband and two sons were named Family of the Year by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) - Virginia. Read more >>
