Roanoke, VA - Hollins University Swimming vs. Guilford College November 7, 2009

Hollins played host to Guilford College in a dual swim meet on Saturday afternoon.  The meet marked the home debut of the 2009-2010 Hollins Swim team.  Guilford came away with a 64-31 ODAC win.

Hollins won the 200 Free Relay by nine seconds.  Sage Otto (Hampton, VA/Kecoughtan), pictured left, staked Hollins to an eight second lead after the opening leg.  Kelsi Orsak (Danbury, TX/Brazoswood) , Shannon Haluszczak (Cottleville, MO/Francis Howell Central) and Brooke Bruce (San Diego, CA/Mission Bay) held the lead as Hollins won the relay event.  In addition to the 200 relay win, Otto placed second in both the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Freestyle.  Bruce finsihed second in the 50 Freestyle while Orsak finished third in the same race.  Kate Teiken (Hunnelstown, PA/Hershey) took home second place points in the 100 Backstroke and the 100 Breaststroke.

Hollins will resume action when they travel to Sweet Briar to swim in an ODAC tri-match with the Vixens and Emory & Henry College on December 5th.
