Hollins Can't Avenge Earlier Loss |

Roanoke, VA - Hollins University Swimming vs Sweet Briar College, January 17, 2012 Hollins hosted ODAC rival Sweet Briar College in the pool on Tuesday night. Hollins struggled against the Vixens earlier in the season but looked for revenge in their home pool. Hollins won two events but it wasn't enough to catch the Vixens who swam away with a 168-87 ODAC victory. Maggie Dwyer (Norwich, VT) won two more events by taking the 200 Freestyle and coming back later in the meet to win the 500 Freestyle. Ashley Gao (Pearland, TX) came home second in the 100 Butterfly. Gao also teamed with Geordan West (Monument, CO), Meg O'Brien (Chattanooga, TN), and Kara Berman (Chapel Hill, NC) to pick up second place points in the 200 Medley Relay. In the final event of the meet, the 200 Freestyle Relay, the Hollins team of Sage Otto (Hampton, VA), Berman, Audrey James (Fremont, CA), and Dwyer finished second. Hollins will continue ODAC competition when they travel to Emory & Henry College on Saturday afternoon. The meet with the Wasps will begin at 1:00pm. |
