Bridgewater College came to Hollins for an ODAC soccer game on a sunny, Saturday afternoon.  Hollins came into the game fresh off a 3-1 win over Bluefield College on Thursday.  However, the Eagles struck quickly to take the early lead.  Hollins had a chance to tie the game but the ball sailed over the crossbar and the home team still trailed by one.  Bridgewater was able to add to the lead and thanks to a goal with three minutes left in the half, the visitors from Bridgewater took a 3-0 lead into the break.  Both teams traded scoring chances in the second half until the Eagles found the net twice in a 45 second span to put the game away.  A late goal made the final score 6-0 in favor of the visitors.

Trailing by one goal early in the matchup, Mary Wells (Smyrna, TN/The Webb School) took a pass, over the defense by Kelli Kitchens (Roanoke, VA/William Byrd), and fired a shot just over the crossbar.  Kristen Norkus (Gainesville, VA/Battlefield) led Hollins with four saves.  Hollins had a couple of good scoring opportunities as 80% of their shots were on net.

Roanoke native, Paxton Sauerwald scored twice for the Eagles.  Melaine Waters, Mari Marotta, Helen Feeser, and Krissy Snyder also scored for Bridgewater.

After four straight at home, Hollins will travel to Guilford College next week.
