Hollins Can't Keep Up With Guilford |
Greensboro, NC - Hollins University Soccer at Guilford College October 12, 2011 Hollins traveled to North Carolina for an ODAC soccer game against Guilford College on Wednesday evening. Hollins came into the match-up with the Quakers after finishing up a four game home stand. The game began with both defenses dominating play. The Quakers used a three goal run in the final 15 minutes to take the lead into the break. Guilford kept the pressure on in the second half en route to a 7-0 ODAC win. Morgan Wood (Rocky Mount, VA/Home Schooled) led the Hollins offensive attack with three shots. Three Hollins keepers combined to stop 12 Quaker shots. Kristen Norkus (Gainesville, VA/Battlefield) recorded nine saves while Amanda Duffie-Fritz (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) made two stops and Samantha Tooley (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) added one. Guilford got two goals from Sarah Lewis. Sarah Levitt, Bri Eilman, Gabrielle Lahowitch, and Lily Wotkyns added a goal apiece. Three Quaker combined to record the shut-out. Hollins has just three games remaining this season. Before coming home for the final two contests, Hollins will travel to Sweet Briar on October 19th. |
