Lexington, KY - Hollins University Riding at 2010 IHSA National Horse Show, May 6-9, 2010

The Hollins University riding team finished in fourth place at the IHSA National Horse Show that took place last week in Lexington, KY.  Hollins was represented by riders Katie Furches, Tyne Hovda, Sarah Jarosinski, Meredith McDonnell, Andrea Moreau, Caitlin Shipe, and Kristina Sprenkle.

McDonnell earned first place in the Intermediate Equitation Over Fences, one of eight divisions in which the teams competed.  Hovde, Novice Equitation on the Flat, and Sprenkle, Intermediate Equitation on the Flat, each placed fifth in their respective divisions.  Shipe finished sixth in Walk-Trot-Canter Equitation while Jarosinski, Novice Equitation Over Fences, and Furches, Open Equitation Over Fences, each secured top 10 finishes.  Furches was awarded the 2010 IHSA Sportsmanship Award and also competed in the prestigious Cacchione Cup.
