And yet riding is never seen as separate from or more important than the college experience as a whole. Facilities Riding staff
The Hollins Riding Center is located within walking distance of campus. The 220’ x 110’ Kirby Riding Ring, where numerous horse shows are held during the school year, includes a heated and air-conditioned viewing lounge and a sound system. More »

The coaching team, led by longtime director Nancy Peterson, is supported by a wonderful crew of barn staff and a host of student assistants, who spend hours at the barn pouring love and care into the horses and facility. More »

Riding has been part of the fabric of Hollins since the 1930s, but it began its rise to national prominence in the late 1950s. Hollins has twice fielded IHSA National Champion teams. Our students have won 19 national individual championships, and four have won the coveted Cacchione Cup.
