Hollins University

Clarkesville, GA - Hollins University Golf at Piedmont College Fall Invitational, September 21-22, 2009

The Hollins golf team traveled to Georgia to compete in the Piedmont College Fall Invitational.  Hollins shot a season best 369 and placed in the top half of the 12 team field.  The tournament featured NAIA and Junior College teams in addition to a Division III field that included national power Methodist College.

Sara Nunnally (Wilmington, NC/New Hanover), pictured left, fired a team best, eight over par, 80.  Her round was the best round of the tournament for Division III golfers and earned her all-tournament honors.  The All-Tournament Team was comprised of Nunnally, Corrine Skelly (Spartanburg-Methodist), Kelsey McEntyre (Young Harris), Kinsley Smith (Piedmont), and Allison Burak Methodist).

J.R. Woolwine (Fairfax, VA/Fairfax) and first year golfers Cressy Lee (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly) and Autum Russell (Chantilly, VA) rounded out the Hollins squad that shot their lowest round of the fall season.

Hollins will travel to New York in mid-October to compete in the New York University - Manhattanville Fall Classic.  The tournament will be hosted at the Hampshire Country Club on October 17 and 18.
