Hollins University

Draper , VA - Hollins University Golf at Draper Valley Women's Intercollegiate, September 7-8, 2009

Head coach Bill Mannino and the golf team began their season on Monday when Hollins teed up at the Draper Valley Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Appalachian State. The two-day event was held at the Draper Valley Golf Course in Draper, Va.

Sara Nunnally (Wilmington, NC/New Hanover) led the way for Hollins in the opening round when she fired an 86 on the 6,200 yard par 72 layout.  Day two saw first year golfer Cressy Lee (Fairfax, VA/Chantilly), pictured left, card a team leading 84.  Second year golfer J.R. Woolwine (Fairfax, VA/Fairfax) came in just behind Lee with an 86.  Autum Russell (Chantilly, VA) rounded out the Hollins team for the two day event.

As a team Hollins shot 373 on Monday and followed it up with 372 on Tuesday afternoon. 

Hollins will have two weeks until their next tournament when they travel south to Georgia to play in the Piedmont College Fall Tournament.
