Three in a Row for Hollins

Final Results

After opening the season with two consecutive tournament wins, Hollins traveled to Lexington, VA to face the rest of the ODAC at the Washington and Lee Fall Invitational.  The two day event was played at the Lexington Country Club and featured 21 golfers from six different schools.

Hollins built a 21 stroke lead over second place Randolph-Macon after the first day of play.  Behind an even par 72 by Elizabeth Cheng (Virginia Beach, VA), Hollins shot a second round 341 en route to winning the tournament.  It was the third tournament win in three tries this fall Hollins.  Cheng shot a two day total of 148 to win her second tournament of the season, having won at McDaniel last weekend.  Elizabeth currently sports the fifth best scoring average in the country as compiled by Golfstat.  Reigning Hollins Student Athlete of the Week Shelby Estes (Mt. Crawford, VA) recorded a second round 84 and placed sixth individually.  Sydney Patrick (Flower Mound, TX) and Gabby Rader (San Antonio, TX) landed just outside the top 10, finishing 11th and 12th.

Hollins will face their biggest challenge of the fall when they travel to Ohio in two weeks.  Hollins will compete at the Wittenberg Fall Tournament at the Springfield Country Club on October 13th and 14th.
