Box Score

Hollins returned home after winning the last two of a three game road trip to face Washington & Lee on Tuesday night.  It was a rematch of an earlier Hollins' seven point win and both teams came into the match-up with 7-10 records.  Hollins lost the opening tip but turned over the Generals to score the game's first hoop.  W&L quickly tied the game and the teams traded the lead back and forth throughout the first half.  Hollins built the lead to as many as five but couldn't pull away from the generals.  After 20 minutes, five lead changes, and five ties, Hollins took a 28-26 lead into the break.  The second half saw much of the same and after a Hollins three pointer with 2:46 left to play the game was tied fro the tenth time.  The two teams combined to miss seven shots and the horn sounded with the game tied at 51-51.

Neither team could pull away in the first overtime and Hollins held a two point lead with 17 seconds to play.  The Generals hit a pair of free throws to tie the game for the twelfth time as the two teams headed into a second overtime.  W&L raced out to a quick three point lead but Hollins answered to tie the game at the 1:19 mark.  Hollins scored back to back baskets to build the lead to four.  After a General layup, Hollins hit a free throw to seal a hard fought 71-68 ODAC victory.

Jasmine Green (Hampton, VA/Tabb) came within a single assist of a triple-double.  Greene scored 16 points to go with her 10 rebounds, nine assists, and three steals.  Chanci Wright (Eden, TX/Eden) hit six of nine shots en route to 16 points and five rebounds.  Carrie Cox (Lynch Station, VA/Altavista) came off the bench to score 11 points while Lauren Morris (Morehead, NC/Croatan) added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Lacie Forrest (Richmond, VA/Meadowbrook) just missed double figures with her nine points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Katy Wilson scored a career high 29 points while grabbing a game high 16 rebounds.  Meg Ingram, played all 50 minutes, added 20 points and five assists.  The Generals came into the game second in the ODAC in free throw percentage but hit just 18 of 30 for the game.

Hollins will look to make it four in a row with a trip to Bridgewater on Thursday night.  The game will tip at 7:00pm and is a rematch of an earlier game that the Eagles won on a last second three pointer.
