Athlete of the Week - October 5, 2009

Morgan Dean is the Hollins Student-Athlete of the Week.  Dean and the soccer team hosted ODAC and national power Lynchburg College this past weekend.  Minutes before opening kick, Dean was pressed into duty in goal due to an injury to keeper Kristen Norkus.  Morgan recorded 17 saves in her first collegiate game in goal and kept Hollins in the match despite the Lynchburg offense attempting 39 shots.  Morgan is a first year from Draper, VA and is planning on being a double major in Biology and International Studies.  After the soccer season is over, Morgan will be moving indoors as a part of the Hollins basketball team.
