Historians love anniversaries of significant events. The problem, however, is that NOBODY EVER LISTENS TO US! Instead, major anniversaries like Pearl Harbor and the Civil War provide crackpot amateurs with forums to advance their agendas, including those based on absurd conspiracy theories. Historians are boring; zealots are weirdly interesting. Let's look at the evidence for some of the things you're likely to hear over the next four years of celebration of America's Civil War, and put some questions on the table for a rollicking discussion of the state of Civil War history. 3:30 - 5 pmHollins Women Making History: Alumnae Panel
