Problems logging in to Connect@Hollins
Error message you are receiving:
"The page cannot be displayed either due to technical difficulties from the website, or you need to adjust your browser settings.
Possible solutions:
- PC users: Internet Explorer version 6.x is recommended. Go to this site to download:

- Macintosh OS9 users: Netscape version 7.0.2 is recommended. Download it here: http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/download/archive70x.jsp#702English
- Macintosh OSX (minimum 10.3) users: Apple Safari 1.2 is recommended. Download it here: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/safari.html
- If you are using AOL: Connect@Hollins will not work if you’re using the AOL browser. Close it, and open up a new instance of Internet Explorer.
- If you have disabled pop-ups on your computer: Anti-pop-ups applications installed on your computer may interfere with Connect@Hollins.
- Try to log in using a different computer it may sound like a long shot, but sometimes it works!
- The information in Connect@Hollins is live from our database. If our database goes down, Connect@Hollins is also down. This happens rarely, but it could be the reason for your problem. Please come back and try again later.
- Our Web server may be temporarily down. Again, this is rare. Please check back at another time.
Error message you are receiving:
"Invalid user ID or PIN.
Possible solutions:
- Enter numbers only for your ID and PIN. Do not enter dashes or hyphens. Include the leading zeroes if you have them in your ID and PIN.
- You may be locked out for attempting to log in too many times and failing. Contact us at alumnae@hollins.edu or (800) Tinker1 for assistance.
- If you have NUM LOCK off on your keyboard: You need to have NUM LOCK on so that you can type in your ID and PIN. The NUM LOCK key is above your keypad and should have a light that indicates it is on.
- We may have different numbers set up for your ID and PIN, other than Social Security Number and birth date. Please contact us at alumnae@hollins.edu or (800) Tinker1 to confirm.
- We may have your birth date or Social Security Number incorrect in our records. Please contact us at alumnae@hollins.edu or (800) Tinker1 to confirm.
Error:
A blank page or no page comes up at all when you click on the link for Connect@Hollins.
Possible solution:
- Windows Critical Updates: You may need to install the latest critical updates for Windows. Go to this site to download the updates your computer needs (it will detect which updates your computer needs): http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
- You may also want to install the recommended updates as well.
