Hollins University gathers several types of information about our alumnae/i who visit our site: personal contact information supplied on our Online Update form, personal information supplied on our secure online information system (Connect@Hollins), information about how many people visit our site, and other personal contact information supplied by alumnae/i via online surveys or by signing up for an e-mail newsletter. This information helps us tailor our services to our alumnae/i's needs, and to keep our records up to date. Hollins University DOES NOT SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT INDIVIDUAL VISITORS WITH ANY OUTSIDE PARTY.
Alumnae/i names, addresses, and biographical information in our online alumnae/i directory are entrusted to the Hollins Alumnae Relations office by each individual alumna/alumnus. This information is protected and confidential.
It is understood that, in releasing this information via our online alumnae/i directory, the intent is to use it for noncommercial, personal purposes only with Hollins alumnae/i and classmates. Use of this information for other purposes (i.e., a solicitation mailing for your company) is strictly prohibited. No part of any confidential alumnae/i information may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means electronic, mechanical, photocopied, or otherwise without the consent of the Hollins Alumnae Relations office.
As stated above, Hollins University uses information that visitors voluntarily provide in order to send out e-mail newsletters. Hollins University does not share newsletter mailing lists with any third parties, including advertisers, constituencies or partners. We use tracking information to determine which areas of our site visitors like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. Hollins University does not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. Hollins University uses the information described above to tailor our products and content to suit your needs and help us better understand our audience's demographics. Hollins University will not disclose any of your personal information, except as described above, or when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, or to protect the rights or property of Hollins University.

1. User responsibility
***It is the responsibility of every user to safeguard their ID and PIN, and to log out of the secure information system, Connect@Hollins, when finished with their session. This helps Hollins' secure site remain safe from outsiders who may use login information to access the protected areas of the Web site.
2. Rights of the institution
Hollins reserves the right to at any time, and without notice, change, add, delete or discontinue any aspect or feature of the Hollins University alumnae Web site, including, but not limited to, content, programs, hours of availability, and equipment needed for access or use.
Hollins University shall have the right at any time to change or modify the terms and conditions applicable to User's use of the Hollins University alumnae Web site, or any part thereof, or to impose new conditions and/or operating rules, including, but not limited to, adding fees and charges for use. Such changes, modifications, additions or deletions shall be effective immediately upon notice thereof, which may be given by means including, but not limited to, posting on Hollins University alumnae Web site, or by electronic or conventional mail, or by any other means by which User obtains notice thereof. 3. User conduct
User shall use Hollins University alumnae Web site for lawful purposes only. User shall not post or transmit through Hollins University alumnae Web site any material which violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable, which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law, or which, without Hollins University alumnae Web site's express prior approval, contains advertising or any solicitation with respect to products or services. Any conduct by a User that in Hollins University's discretion restricts or inhibits any other User from using or enjoying Hollins University alumnae Web site will not be permitted. User may download copyrighted material for User's personal use only. Except as otherwise expressly permitted under copyright law, no copying, redistribution, retransmission, publication or commercial exploitation of downloaded material will be permitted without the express written permission of Hollins University and the copyright owner. In the event of any permitted copying, redistribution or publication of copyrighted material, no changes in or deletion of author attribution, trademark legend or copyright notice shall be made. User acknowledges that it does not acquire any ownership rights by downloading copyrighted material.
User shall not upload, post or otherwise make available on Hollins University alumnae Web site any material protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner of the copyright, trademark or other proprietary right and the burden of determining that any material is not protected by copyright rests with the User. User shall be solely liable for any damage resulting from any infringement of copyrights, proprietary rights, or any other harm resulting from such a submission. By submitting material to any public area of Hollins University alumnae Web site, User automatically grants, or warrants that the owner of such material has expressly granted Hollins University the royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate and distribute such material (in whole or in part) worldwide and/or to incorporate it in other works in any form, media or technology now known or hereafter developed for the full term of any copyright that may exist in such material. User also permits any other User to access, view, store, or reproduce the material for that User's personal use. User hereby grants Hollins University the right to edit, copy, publish and distribute any material made available on Hollins University alumnae Web site by User.
